The intent is towards public safety and making sure that only those fireworks that meet CPSC guidelines for consumer sale are offered in public retail locations. UN0336 Fireworks 1.4G - For Professional Use Only are not intended for nor should be sold in public retail locations in order to ensure the safety of the general public. UN0336 Fireworks 1.4G For Professional Use Only items should only be sold to and used by those with the proper training, equipment and experience to ensure the safety of users and spectators alike. Fireworks Identification GuideNFA Announces Their Definition of Professional Use Only for Pyrotechnics and FireworksThe requirement for Professional Use Only is met by a person when they have the necessary knowledge through education, skill, training, demonstration, and/or prior experience to safely, legally and responsibly use articles pyrotechnic or fireworks. Professional use does not require that a person be employed or compensated to use Professional Use Only products. Professional use does not require use to be in commerce and personal entertainment purposes are allowed. Professional Use Only products may not be used by a person that does not have knowledge and training on how to use the products safely, legally and responsibly unless they are under the direct and continuous supervision of a person meeting the requirements of Professional Use.
Testing, training, interviewing, a resume review, contacting references, or any other reasonable review process are all acceptable methods of determining if a person has met the requirement of having the knowledge necessary to safely, legally and responsibly use Professional Use Only products. -- August 1, 2022 |
